UNITED NATIONS, June 26 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki- moon on Thursday said that the election of the Council of Representatives in Libya "marks an important step in moving the transition process forward and stabilizing the political process."
"The secretary-general congratulates the people of Libya on the election of the Council of Representatives," said a statement issued here by Ban's spokesman. "The election marks an important step in moving the transition process forward and stabilizing the political process."
